If you are tasting in Healdsburg (which you absolutely should!) Amista is a good option for anyone who like Rhone blends or sparkling wines! They have two different flights so it’s also good for a group. Outdoor tasting area has a view of their vineyards and is so great to spend the morning or afternoon. They serve popcorns with the tasting that goes well with their fun and easy drinking wines.

I recently found out about this winery from the wine loving community and wow, it checks all of my boxes and I can’t recommend this place enough. Small family owned (husband and wife team) winery in Sebastopol Sonoma, where they make wines they love and I love all their wines. Wines are all so good and well-priced, easy to drink and unique! No fancy building or vineyard but super cute tasting garden. We ended up joining the club and can’t go back. If you are in Sonoma/Santa Rosa and want to taste a variety of good wines other than Pinot or Cab (although their Cab and Pinot are good as well), highly recommend. Their wines have become my go to bottle any night of the week.

Rangeland

TL;DR

  • Cute for pictures: 4.5/5

  • QPR: 5/5, average price $30-60

  • Main varietals: Sauvignon Blanc, variety of reds including GSM, Zin, Merlot, Cab. There’s something for everyone!

  • Tasting fee: $15 to taste, waived with a bottle purchase

I added Rangeland to our itinerary because we needed a place for lunch and saw that they serve grass-fed burgers on weekends. It was the best choice ever! Not only the burger was amazing, they have great wines especially for the price (true Paso prices compared to Napa 😂), and the ground was beautiful. I can’t recommend it enough even if you are not into burgers.

Law Estate

TL;DR

  • Cute for pictures: 4/5

  • QPR: 3.5/5, average price $78

  • Main varietals: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre

  • Tasting fee: $40 to taste, 2 fees waived with 6 bottle purchase

  • Average wine rating on Vivino: 4.4

Multiple people recommended Law Estate so it was one of the first on our itinerary when we booked a weekend trip to Paso. Estate is beautiful and each party is hosted by a dedicated host. While it’s considered small, various tasting areas did feel like a more established winery. Good stop for a small group as they have a glass-enclosed room that felt very private!
