L'aventure Winery

TL;DR

  • Cute for pictures: 4/5

  • QPR: 3/5, average price $50-100

  • Main varietals: Cab + Syrah blend, Rhone style blends

  • Tasting fee: $40, waived with membership

  • Average wine rating on Vivino: 4.3

L’aventure is a great stop in Paso. They have interesting big bold reds that are all smooth to drink. Tasting fee is on the pricey side for Paso and they only waive the fee if you join their membership (requires purchasing 6 bottles). However, we liked the wines and our friends in our group did as well so we ended up purchasing 3 bottles each to join the membership and get the tasting fee waived. View of the vineyard on a hill is really nice, worth a visit if you like GSM blends or big reds.

Austin Hope

TL;DR

  • Cute for pictures: 3/5

  • QPR: 4/5, average price $16-125

  • Main varietals: Wide range of varietals from whites to reds

  • Tasting fee: $25, waived with purchase

  • Average wine rating on Vivino: 4.4

Austin Hope is famous for their Cab, with a 4.5 rating on Vivino by 22K+ people. Winery is on a larger side with a variety of wines including their sister labels (Treana and Quest) so you can find something for everyone. My favorites from the winery are Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc (exclusive to members).

  • Main varietals: Cab, Cab + Syrah blend

  • Tasting fee: $25, waived with a bottle purchase per tasting

Cute winery with a picnic style outdoor space with a vineyard view. They also had live music on a Sunday which made it a nice place for our group of 4 to stay and enjoy their wines and view. We ended up purchasing a bottle to drink while enjoying the scenery and also to take home (I really liked their Cab + syrah blend called Silken)

Casual spot in Paso with a nice vineyard view. Tasting fee and bottle prices are reasonable and wines are also pretty good. They have different types of red blends (GSM and Bordeaux style blends) and also have a fun port style wine.

LXV

TL;DR

  • Cute for pictures: 3/5

  • QPR: 5/5 for tasting. 3/5 for bottles (average price $50-100)

  • Main varietals: Cab, red blends, mostly reds

  • Tasting fee: $15, waived with a purchase of $65

  • Average wine rating on Vivino: 4.2

Main tasting room is located in downtown Paso so it’s a nice stop if you are staying or having dinner in downtown. They also have a tasting experience in the vineyards for members. Wines were pretty good but on the pricey side for Paso wines. However, tasting fee is reasonable and they also have a unique spice pairing (extra $10). We didn’t try the spice pairing because we thought it was literally just the spices but it involves cheese and small crackers to compliment the cheese.
