As prices of Burgundy wines have doubled in the last ten years and increasing ~20% year over year, it’s getting harder and more expensive to drink Burgundy wines. One of the perks of visiting Burgundy is finding Burgundy wines at a more affordable price at various shops and restaurants. I recently did a 5-day trip to Burgundy, France and here’s the list of places where I found good food and wine list.
Restaurants with a nice wine list
Ma Cuisine: Traditional burgundy food with a long Burgundy wine list
Le Millésime: Higher end contemporary restaurant with creative menus
Caves Madeleine: Fun course meal in a nice outdoor setting (weather pending)
Cave et Cuisine: A bit of a drive/taxi ride from Beaune but great food and long wine list
Maison Lameloise: I personally didn’t get to visit as it’s located a bit more south from Beaune but have heard amazing things
Wine bars
La Maison du Colombier: Lovely wine bar with tapas style food in front of Notre-Dame of Beaune
La Cuverie De Vosne: Wine bar by a popular producer Comte Liger Belair
Caveau de Saulx (Le Trou): Wine bar in Dijon specializing in old vintage wines. They have a super fun blind tasting menu and it was such a unique experience
Places to stay
Vertigo Hotel (Dijon): Conveniently located near the train station and easy walk to rest of the city
La Maison de Jacqueline (Vosne-Romanee): Cute bed and breakfast operated by Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg. Lovely room, vineyard view, and a bar with limited but well curated and priced wines
ibis Styles Beaune Centre (Beaune): Small and basic rooms but clean and centrally located in Beaune. Great option for value at ~$130
